Grandma, teacher held over torture of eight-year-old

The police in Kano State have arrested an ‘Almajiri’ school teacher, Ma’aruf Muhammad, of Garbi Quarters, Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State for allegedly torturing eight years old Muhammad Garba.

It was gathered the teacher usually stripped the minor before using a USB cable to violently flog him across his back.

Osinbajo joins 2023 presidential race

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has officially declared his decision to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development comes after months of speculations over whether or not he would run for president.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, has said he consulted widely before declaring his intention to contest the 2023 presidency.

Reading a letter titled: ‘Forward with courage’ at the Thanksgiving organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Amaechi said he was qualified to run.

GOVERNOR Hope Uzodinma is set to host the 14th edition of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, in Owerri, Imo State.

Governor Uzodinma accepted to host the movie awards after a visit by the organising team led by the awards ceremony founder, Seun Oloketuyi.
