More appointees resign in states over Electoral Act

Agale of resignations is sweeping through states following governors’ directives to political appointees interested in vying for offices in next year’s general election to resign.

The governors are enforcing the provision of Section 84(12) of the amended Electoral Act which

A new chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Stephen Ntukekpo, has been inaugurated by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

With Ntukekpo’s recognition by APC’s national executive, Niger Delta Affairs Minister Senator Godswill has formally taken  over the party’s structure in the oil-rich state.

Ukraine: Europe raises over €9 billion for refugees

The international fundraising campaign 'Stand up for Ukraine' has raised a €9.1 billion to support refugees fleeing war in Ukraine and internally displaced people.

'Significant numbers' of migrants to be sent back to Morocco from Spain

At the end of last week, Spain and Morocco initiated a new phase of bilateral relations between the two countries. More economic cooperation, new flight routes and a warmer political climate are planned. In return, Spain reportedly wants to fly back to Morocco migrants who do not qualify for asylum.
