Ocean Viking: 295 migrants aboard after new rescue ops in Mediterranean
The Ocean Viking ship currently has close to 300 rescued migrants and refugees on board, following two new operations off Libya. Meanwhile, the Italian coast guard rescued roughly 80 people, and the Geo Barents is still looking for a port to disembark some 100 rescues.
8.3 million could flee Ukraine, 70,000 applied for asylum in Italy
According to the United Nations, by the end of the year up to 8.3 million people could have fled the conflict in Ukraine. In Italy, 101,204 Ukrainians have reportedly crossed the border, according to the latest data. Seven in 10 have applied for protection.
Lebanon: Cabinet demands army probe over migrant shipwreck
The Lebanese government has demanded an investigation into an incident in the night between Saturday and Sunday (April 24-25) in which at least six migrants drowned off the coast of Tripoli. Some survivors have said that the military cutter voluntarily rammed into the migrant vessel.

The UK's asylum reform bill -- the Nationality and Borders Bill -- is set to become law after overcoming a final challenge in parliament on Wednesday. Since the departure of the United Kingdom from the EU two years ago, the country has been working on tightening its immigration laws.
